Do I really have ADHD?

I have ADHD. At least I think I do. I told my counseler bout 2 months ago.

Then today they tested me for ADD/ADHD, and they said I didn't have it? I was kinda pissed. Because I have ALL the symptoms. And I mean ALL. Everything from messy handwriting to moving around in seat to harder peer-relationships. A to Z.

Hyperactive
- Squirms in seat
- Fidgets
- On the go

Impulsive
- I act/talk without thinking

Inattentiveness
- My mind is always drifting.
- I can't work on an assignment unless it is interesting.
- Hard for me to get started.

I have everything...
And it's been happening for a long time.
But the test says I'm not ADHD/ADD.

It called boredom.
You are obviously a very intellectual person.
If they tested you and the results are negative. Celebrate.

The problem you are experiencing is probably diet related. My guess is that you aren't eating enough protein and you are loaded up on to much sugar.

That will make you have the same type symptoms and is actually one of the problems with people with ADHD.

The other thing is mineral deficiency. If you are deficient in minerals, then it can also cause these kinds of problems. An example is calcium and magnesium. both of these have a calming effect.

People with restless leg syndrome usually have a magnesium deficiency and when they take it, it goes away.

Let me know if you have any questions and refer to the links below for more information.

Why do you want to be positive for ADHD? Doctors are starting to move away from prescribing drugs for it anyway and a lot of scientists are saying it's not even a real condition. And all that stuff above? That describes just about everyone during school hours. It describes how I was during high school and elementary school and I got through just fine without Ritalin.

Be happy you don't have it. You probably just have a few minor flaws, everyone does. Plenty of people get these things, just not all of them. I am pretty sure you do not have ADHD if the doctors said you didn't.
Best of luck.

i am pretty sure that i have ADHD and i do all of those things do you do that at home is the question .

Just having the symptoms is not enough to be diagnosed with ADHD. If just having thee symptoms was all it took then nearly all kids would be diagnosed.

There are some other key factors.

1. It must be pervasive, this means in must affect you ALL the time. If you get these symptoms some days and not others theen you dont have ADHD. Those with the condition have these problems every day all day. They may have good times and bad times but still obvious problems all the time.

Also they must have these problems in all settings home, school, when out with friends, when shopping, when watching TV, when playing sport. Everywhere.

2. This is an inborn disorder. It wont just be something that has been happeneing for a long time. You have to have been suffering from these problems for your entire life for it to be ADHD.

3. Your problems may not be severe enough. Everyone suffers from these problems to some degree, some worse than others. But it must be veryy very severe to be ADHD. Not just a short attention span but often struggle to concentrate for a few seconds, not just hyperactive but being totally incapable of walking in a straight line.
