ADD and ADHD? What should I do?

Im really gettting sick of so much bullcrap. My brother has ADD and ADHD and my kinda wanna-be-popular brattty not really friend has it. My brother is always wanting attension and it never stops! and he is always hitting me! He just pisses me off! Then the brat, her name is Chelsea has it too. She just doesnt care about anyone but herself. The only thing she cares about is being "popular". She is very pour. Her mom is a b***h. And she has fricken attension deficites disorder. She will never be popular!!! I get so fricken mad! THEY HAVE NO EXCUSE! IF THEY ARE MESSED UP THAN WHY DON'T SOMEONE LOCK THEM IN A DAMN CUCKOO HUT! DAMN! okay don't make fun of me, im not freking out this bad in real life. Any advice? Am I wrong? TELL ME!!!!!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I resent that... I'm 25, and I was diagnosed with ADD at 11... Don't stereotype us... just because two people are like this doesn't mean EVERY F***ING PERSON with ADD or ADHD is like that! Gosh, tht just pissed me off...

Hey, it is really, really hard to live with a brother who has ADHD, I don't blame you for getting frustrated and needing to vent about it a bit.

Having a sibling with ADHD can mean that you miss out on a lot of attention. It might be a good idea to sit down with your parents and tell them that you find it difficult sometimes, if you find that hard to say try writing them a letter.

Maybe you could have a private communication book between you and your parents that you could keep somewhere that your brother doesnt know about. If you have a problem, or need to tell them something and he is always in the way you can write it down in the book and they can read it and find a way to help out. Even better would be a box where you could write the notes on a piece of paper and put it in the box. That way your parents can dispose of it after they have read it and your brother wont see it.

Ask your parents if you could organise some times when it is just you and them. Maybe once a month you could have a girls day and go shopping with your mom or to a movie. Explain that it is very hard to have someone around who always needs attention and you feel you need a bit of your parents attention too without him getting in the way.

Don't let him get away with hitting you. If you do he will do it more. This is a problem with ADHD, they dont understand boudaries and if you give them a little they will do it a lot more. If her hits you turn to him firmly and say "do not hit me" and walk away. Dont say or do anything else or he will consider it attention. Tell your parents straight away if he is violent with you and let them know you are not ok with this.

As for your friend, by the sounds of her I feel sorry for her. I dont know how old you are but for many kids from about the ages of 8-15 popularity is everything in the world to them. You should feel sorry for people like this as they don't have enough other good things in their lives that they have to obsess over this.

It is not her fault that she is poor or her mother is horrible and it is definatly not her fault she has ADHD. You are probably right, she will probably never be popular because of these problems, and that is quite sad. I know they can be annoying but just be glad that you don't have these problems yourself and are lucky enough that you have chances your brother and friend dont have.
