Could I have ADHD at 15?

im 15 years old and think i might have ADHD. i cant stay focused for more than 10 mins. i zone out when my teacher is talk or writing on the board. i cant do any kind of homework near a computer, radio, tv or cell phone or i get distracted and never get any work done. and my grades have been slipping. in 8th grade i was an A/B student. freshmen C/D. sophomore D/F. i cant sit still. never. i always have to be shaking my legs. i get restless in 10 min car rides and need to stand up. my brother also has really severe ADHD. do you think i could?

yes, you for sure could have it. i didn't get diagnosed until i was 14. it is also hereditary, so if your brother has it, there's a good chance you could. those symptoms are exactly how i was before i started Adderall. and my grades also had that descent like yours, which makes it even more important to get this figured out, so your grades don't suffer.

good luck!

Um . . . Anyone . . . can have ADHD and . . . unfortunately a lot of people that don鈥檛 know what attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder is . . . I suggest you educate yourself about ADHD and ask a qualified adult (like your counselor, or doctor) to help you.

Yes, I have it and I am 17 (diagnosed at 14). Even adults have ADD. I take medication though and now it's not so bad and my grades went drastically up.

There are nutrients you can take... Vitamins, minerals and herbs... Check my source for a good product
that I currently take, hope this helps.

Well, ADHD isn't something that suddenly appears. You'd have had to have had it throughout your childhood. Look back at your childhood and see if you have any signs of ADHD. If not, then there's probably another reason for your behaviour. It is quite possible for you to have ADHD or ADD because your brother has it - it tends to run in the family. For example - my mother, brother and grandfather all had ADHD and I'm positive I have ADD (it's gone by unnoticed, but I have all the symptoms and I do realize now that I was like that as a child as well). If you cannot find any signs of ADHD or ADD in your childhood, then you may want to find a different reason for how you're feeling and such. Distraction, poor grades and short attention span are also often signs of depression (which pretty much comes along with the majority sympstoms of ADD). Of course, so few signs cannot tell you very much. Do you find yourself constantly daydreaming or just dreaming in general? Do you often have trouble sleeping? Are you easily angered or irratated? Do you find yourself to be sad quite often, thinking pessimistic thoughts (self-harm, suicide, life is pointless...) or constantly crying for no reason? If so, you may be clinically depressed. If you don't have any of those symptoms though, I'd aim more towards ADHD/ADD. Again, look at your childhood - if you see earlier signs of distraction, poor grades, etc. then you just may have one or the other. If you have any of aforementioned medical problems, or believe you do, you should tell a parent or guardian about it so you can receive proper help so your grades can improves. Best of luck to you.
