d. similar as above with the addition to the possibility taking greater risks due to the constant desire for motion
**there are also 6 different types of ADD/ADHD and that will affect c and d**

1. When is ADHD apparent?

ADHD is an inborn disorder but like many other inborn disorders (diabeties, asthma, epilepsy) the symptoms do not always become apparent straight away. It can develop at different times. Some are hyperactive as babies and some mothers even report that their ADHD child was more active in the womb than their other children.

However, the most common age for the disorder to come out is just before the 3rd birthday. The disorder must be obvious by the time a child is 6 or 7 for it to be diagnosed. This condition does not just appear in older kids, teens or adults. To be diagnosed at a later age they must be able to establish a history of these problems from their first year or two of school.

The thing with ADHD is that all kids have these symptoms in the toddler and pre school years, but as a normal child gets older the brain matures and they grow out of it. While with an ADHD it does not, this is why it is obvious by 5 or 6.

2. How does it affect one.

A. Physically
ADHD does not affect the body as such and an ADHD child should look just like any other child. But it can affect their bodies in other ways. Most are hyperactive and alwayd fidgetting and fidelling and running about an on the go. It makes it difficult to sit still, fall alseep and be quiet.

Nearly all ADHD sufferers also report problems with handwrinting and fine motor coordination. A large number also struggle with gross motor coordination but this does not ahve to be apparent for diagnosis.

B Intellectually

ADHD does not affect intelligence. This is in a totally different centre of the brain. ADHD affects people of all levels of intelligence. However, it does affect their ability to achieve to their ability level. They will struggle to do as well as school as they should for their intelligence level. Many may be very bright but struggle to complete college or even get into college, to get and keep a job and so on.

C. Emotionally

ADHD kids every day are underachiveing, getting in trouble, struggling socially, being thrown out of school or fired from their jobs and being rejected by teachers and friends. This frequently leads to serious self esteem issues.

d. Socially

ADHD kids struggle to consider the consequences of their actions and will do and say silly things to their friends which often cost their friendships. they dont think about how they are coming across and often have social problems. They struggle to pay attention when friends are talking and socialise in a normal calm manner.

3. Is it avoidable

No ADHD is not avoidable. It is an inborn genetic disorder, if you are born with it there is nothing that can be done to prevent it.
