Can adults have adhd?

I just posted a question about possibly having adhd, and someone just answered that you can't have adhd at the age of 26, however I have done a lot of research saying the opposite or have I somehow been misinformed?

ADHD is a lifelong disorder. You are born with it and only a very small percentage will grow out of it. If you have it as a child you will most propably have it as an adult as well. So yes you can have ADHD as an adult.

But... You can't develop ADHD as an adult. This is an inborn disorder and part of the criteria for diagnosis is that you have had these problems from at least the first year or two of school.

Of course Adults can have it.

My uncle is 49 and has it.
Age doesn't matter when it comes to that.

It seems like its more common in younger kids because its over rated.
If a kid has a short attention span in the class room, BAM they had ADHD, or ADD.

Maybe people should try to find natural ways to calm their kids down, like maybe not feeding them sugar 15 minutes before they start class.

I'm not saying that every person/kid that is diagnosed with ADHD/ADD is wrongly diagnosed, But I just think that too many people are being put on medicine for something they don't even have.

Of course adults can have ADHD. If you have it now, you most likely had it when you were younger as well you were just never officially diagnosed,
