Is bad to have adhd ?

so my friends all think i have adhd. am hyper i have trouble pay atttetion and cant sit still for very long. i am loud. and my brother george has adhd so does my sister. could i have it and is it bad to have it

no. you cant help it. a LOOOOOOT of people have ADD or ADHD. no stress :D

You may have it but don't diagnose yourself before you know it.
I have all those qualities and I don't have adhd. Some people are just like that.
If you think you have it badly, you may want to see a doctor and get medication. Most likely if it was bad, you'd already know about it, so really there's not much to worry about.
It's not bad at all. It's a disease that many people live with and cope with. It doesn't change who you are.

No. It's just a Mental disorder
a girl in my class has it and shes RRREEEALLLYYY strange.. and she doesnt have any friends
but since you have friends and stuff it cant be that bad
so get tested for it (i dunno if there is a test)

I hope you get a chance to read this response.Let me start by saying this:

ADHD is grossly misunderstood by most people.

While it might be classified as a "mental disorder," it is anything but. You can live with it, and be rather successful in life. So "No" it is not bad to have it. It can be a bad thing I suppose if you are getting the wrong information or if you do not have the right supports in your life.

Will it prevent challenges in your life? Yes, but what doesn't? Will you struggle? Sure... We all do. Will it create more problems for you than most "average" people? Not necessarily.

ADHD actually has more to do with variable inattention or selective attention than it does inattention. And hyperactivity?? What if someone told you that you are passionate?

Now, I don't want to give you the impression that living with ADHD will be easy. But it certainly does NOT always have to be difficult.

My advice - surround yourself with people who understand you. Reach out for support from people who will give it to you, and understand that a lot of people are afraid of what they don't understand.

There isn't anything wrong with it.
my brother takes medication to help him pay attention and it helps.
it doesnt make u weird, or stupid. it just means u get a litle hyper and cant pay attention..

You most likely do, but it's not bad. Just have your Dr. prescribe you Ridilin. IT should help out with the focusing and not being able to sit still.

It's a mental disorder, it's not a "good" thing, but its not the worst thing that can happen.

It's just ADD now. And not every kid has it. Doctors tend to over diagnose it.

It's bad, but what can you do?

nahh... i have add and adhd... it's not bad at all... if you want too control it more ask your doctor about pills for it (ritalin, concerta, aderatl, ect...)

so many people have it. dont feel bad. just get some meds for it or get it checked out.
