There is clinical evidence to prove that artificial colors + preservatives in food causes ADHD so why is...?

...nothing being done to remove these neurotoxins from our food? Why is the government valuing commericial interests above and over that of our children's health?

Hi I Luv My Dumbo Hubby -

I would be very cautious of that "clinical evidence" given that so many different research studies draw different conclusions. Having been involved in the ADHD community for almost 5 years - this is probably one of the most controversial discussions about causes / contributing factors to the condition.

The latest research and scientific evidence does not suggest that artificial colors and preservatives cause ADHD. But then again, the medical community does not know what causes ADHD. All they know is that there are differences in the brain's structure and function. There's a little more to it - but they (the medical community) are still trying to figure it out.

What I can tell you is that these colors and preservatives certainly are known to make "symptoms" of ADHD appear worse than they are. It's just like sugar... Give someone sugar, and they get hyper. Give a child who is already hyper, and they get more hyper.

Please don't get me wrong here. I am not suggesting that there is no relationship, I just want to make sure people are being given accurate information.

But, at the end of the day, being aware of how your body (or a child's body) responds to certain foods can mean the difference between stress and frustration and someone who can maintain focus.

Hope this helps!

i have adhd :(. Unfortunatly these foods are all over the place, and people are going to buy them no matter what, as long as the companys are making profits, they will continue to manufacture them. I never heard that it causes ADHD before. Alot of people think ADHD is just alot of hyper activity. But they are wrong. Its really hard 2 pay attention with too. So maybe its just causing hyperactivity? I dunno. Hope it helps
