Waivers for adhd if going to army flight school?

planning on going through to become an aviator, and was wondering if i had any hope with adhd? ive been off medication for 2 years now

if i went through the warrant officer system though wouldnt i be off of it like for 10 years?

Gonna be dicey...I'd say the odds are against you, especially if the med was Ritalin.

Only a doctor can really answer that. It is possible, but I do have to say that I doubt it. Another course of action is to go after a different job, and prove yourself capable in that job. It might be a round about way of getting what you want, but it might be the best way. A "no" on trying what might be called a "frontal assault" could be turned into a "yes" with the right people saying that you can do it after being the "1 best soldier they ever had and a Colonels signature on the approval to come down here to Ft Rucker to learn to fly helicopters. That school, by the way, is a 2 year school.

Not enough time off of meds, unless you have documentation from work or school showing it. I had a guy who enlisted for me and ended up getting dq'd for ADHD, and was off his meds for over 7 yrs. and they said not enough proof showing behavior off of meds. He didn't tell me about it until I found out when he went to ship to BCT. Needless to say I was a little upset. Best thing to do is take all your med docs and get a release from a doctor, and take all of that to a recruiter so they can do a medread. If it comes back good, then proceed with trying to go WOFT. Good luck.

If you have ADHD, my advice to you is to stay away from the military. It's absolutely the most un-ADHD friendly environment possible. You can serve your country in other ways, such as donating money to a charity or helping out at a local food drive.

Sorry you don't stand a Chance...
