I am 14 years old, I am going to go to see if i have ADHD at the Doctors, What should I expect? |
I am almost positive i have it i have taken the test online and it says i have it... I was wondering from other people who have ADHD what i should expect when i go to get diagnosed. I was also wondering; i have tried concerta and it worked tremendously for me i could concentrate way better and it helped my attitude towards everything extremely, i got in trouble last year and they said i should get tested because i had to get a psycological testing and they thought it would help too and i was wondering how should i approach about telling him about that, and if i should tell him ive tried concerta... and i wanna be prescribed concerta ( Ive only tried it a few times im not looking to get it for drugs or abuse) how should i appraoch him about that too? PLEASE HELP ME IM NERVOUS ABOUT THIS... What do they do to diagnose you i would like to know that too please They talk to you. It's not like they're going to stick needles in you or something. No need to be nervous. I've had testing for a lot of different stuff, and I know to say this: it is no big deal. Just be yourself. It's normal to be nervous. The people who work in the psychological /neurological field do so because they want to help people. There will be a nice man or woman who sits in one chair and you sit in another and they will ask you questions about how you do things and questions about how you think or feel. No big deal. Just answer truthfully and thoroughly. If you don't understand what they mean when you're talking to each other, don't be shy. Ask if you don't understand something. Just be honest and open to them. They're there to help you. Take it easy, we took our daughter to a councilor, to be evaluated, and after she was done, the councilor said, oh by the way, you have ADD too. I had been copping with it for years. Chill out sweetie, what my doctor did when I went in a couple months ago, was send me to a psychologist, and the psychologist had me write tests for around three hours, some timed, some not. You don't have anything to worry about, love, and the tests are actually kind of fun to do. :) |
