Any colleges courses that require classroom-based coursework only, meaning no homework or papers, I have ADHD ? |
I have severe ADHD, i take meds but they are only effective during the day. I have classes and a work study job which means im at school from 9am til 4:30pm everyday (i take an hour long lunchbreak at 2pm). My meds wear off around 5pm so when the time comes to do homework, im most likely cleaning my room, listening to music and watching the tv all at the same time or doing 10 other random things. I start 3 projects at once and rarely finish any of them. I cant sit still or focus on any one thing. Basically what im saying is that i need structure, Once im home from school and free to do whatever i want-i cant sit still, so many distractions are around. im 21 years old and i kno it seems totally immature but if i took courses where everything was completed in the classroom then i would have a 4.0 every semester. Every other aspect of my life is great, I just hate homework Your college should have an Office of Disability Services. You will need to get documentation from your doctor to qualify for accommodations but you should receive some form of a 504 plan.
