I want to know how should I talk to the doctor when my dad sets up an appointment to see if i have ADHD or not? |
I am 14 years old and im not really sure how to apporach the doctor about this when my dad gets the appointment set up. Now please dont judge me on this but i have tried some of the drugs that people get prescribed for ADHD and ADD, i have tried Concerta and Adderall XR. I think Concerta works the best for me. I focus so much better and it helps tremendously with my attitude towards the teacher. I'm not sure if i should tell the doctor that i have tried these drugs or not what do you think? I hated Concerta :P didn't work for me and it starved me! Don't tell him that you've tried them because then he may suspect that you'll share your drugs and give you minimum dosage incase you do share, even if you wont. Odds are you will be perscribed with concerta- it seems like everyone is. If he gives you something different say you've read about concerta and have gotten recomendations about it and would like to try it. Oh and DO NOT try daytrana!!!!!!! ITS HORRIBLE!!! trust me. |

BPD would explain the varying, disassociated feelings, impulsivenes, difficulty in concent... first sit down and tell her how you feel. Nothing negative. Dont tell her what she doesn't do that you cant get her to do anything etc. Tell her that you love her and you hate fighting with he... behavioral therapy ...Sadly many are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and aren't.
