I think my friend has ADHD. Help?

Okay...
He is always jumping about in class
He doesn't think about what he is doing or saying and only after he's done it then he realises that it hurt someone
He is really hyper
He gets really bored after like doing something for 2 minutes

There's probably more stuff, but I can't think of it right now.

Everybody thinks that he has it, but if someone mentions it to him he'll jump on top of them and then be like oops, did I hurt you?

Oh yeah, he's 15.

So, anybody else thinks this sounds like ADHD and any ideas on how to bring this up with him?

His school work is suffering a lot. He's in the top sets with me and he's clever, but he's getting Ds and Es because he's gets distracted really easily.

Also people find him weird because he always hurts people and then says that he didn't mean to.

Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things,

I think that he has a strange illness called teenager.

Just my opinion as a nurse is that telling someone that you think they have ADHD at the age 15 is like telling them that you think they have a disease. That is probably why he became defensive. Some kids are just naturally hyper. If his school work is not suffering and he teachers and his parents don't think he has a problem then there is nothing you can do but just deal with the fact, that is the way he is. But if they do think he has a problem then the first step is consulting his doctor an then they will point him in the right direction for proper diagnosing.

Only a dr can diagnose ADHD .What do his parents think? Maybe you should talk to his parents.

Take a look at this guys articles. He describes ADHD as well as Adult ADD, the symptoms, causes and treatments.

yeah ask him in private if he is don't embarass him in front of the class

As a child i too had these symptoms and was advised to start taking benzodiazipines to help with the AD-HD, i took these tablets for around ten years and they left me highly addicted with many more deep rooted personality disorders, i am off everything now and looking back i wish i had just put up with the telling offs and learned how to deal with the problem myself.
One way to do this is to keep your friend entertained or busy and make everyone else aware of this so they to can keep him busy, as long as his friends are around him and he has something to do you will notice his behavior improve, just please make sure he stays off medication unless he's looking at death or prison as a result of his behavior.
