Hope I helped =)

No, I do not think that you have ADHD from the symptoms that yo have described. It sounds more like an anxiety disorder. Massaging your hands, feeling " weird and shaky" inability to concentrate, feeling impatient or easily frustrated , and being uncomfortable with crowds are all symptoms of an anxiety disorder. Your inability to sit still, massaging your hands, and additional behaviors that you mentioned are all coping skills (though not effective ones) that help you to decrease your levels of anxiety. You should definitely go to your doctor and get a correct diagnosis. Good Luck to you.

Probably. It might be that you have ADHD or you have some mental problem of staying still, meaning you don't like boring stuff. It seems that you have to do something, rather than sitting quietly and still. You may have to practice being calm. I'm not for sure so you should ask a doctor or a psychologist.

I have ADHD and it sounds like you do as well. You have a good deal of the symptoms. Rubbing your hands together a lot is either anxiety or an OCD symptom. You should get evaluated by a psychologist that specializes in ADHD or ADD.

What we think is rather useless in this aspect, the most important thing is that whether a doctor thinks it or not. I doubt any of us here are qualified to tell you if you have ADHD.

There's a difference between ADHD and lack of attention.

i think you have a lot of problmes.
But if you cant stay focused, and get side-tracked WAY too easily, and dont hear anyone calling your name cuz ur deep in thought, then you do have it. everyhting else just seems like mental-ness =x

take this test.

Caffeine is actually a helpful home remedy for ADD. I find it helps me focus more. Just don't go overboard(No jolt soda) because it can put you to sleep.

What you should know:
The diagnostic criteria for ADHD in the DSM-IV-TR庐 were evaluated primarily with children in mind. However, as children mature, ADHD symptoms can become less conspicuous. For example, hyperactivity becomes less overt and may be expressed instead as fidgetiness or an inner restlessness.
It鈥檚 important to remember: The symptoms of ADHD can evolve throughout a patient鈥檚 life. ADHD doesn鈥檛 just affect children and adolescents. In most cases, ADHD is thought to be inherited and can run in families1 鈥?so symptoms may also affect adults. Learn more about ADHD and adults.

Diagnostic Criteria for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder3

A. A persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that is more frequently displayed and more severe than is typically observed in individuals at a comparable level of development

Either (1), (2), or Combined Type:

(1) six (or more) of the following symptoms of inattention have persisted for at least 6 months to a degree that is maladaptive and inconsistent with developmental level:

Inattention
often fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities
often has difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities
often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly
often does not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace (not due to oppositional behavior or failure to understand instructions)
often has difficulty organizing tasks and activities
often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort (such as schoolwork or homework)
often loses things necessary for tasks or activities (eg, toys, school assignments, pencils, books, or tools)
is often easily distracted by extraneous stimuli
is often forgetful in daily activities

(2) six (or more) of the following symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity have persisted for at least 6 months to a degree that is maladaptive and inconsistent with developmental level:

Hyperactivity
often fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat
often leaves seat in classroom or in other situations in which remaining seated is expected
often runs about or climbs excessively in situations in which it is inappropriate (in adolescents or adults, may be limited to subjective feelings of restlessness)
often has difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly
is often 鈥渙n the go鈥?or often acts as if "driven by a motor"
often talks excessively

Impulsivity
often blurts out answers before questions have been completed
often has difficulty awaiting turn
often interrupts or intrudes on others (eg, butts into conversations or games)

Some hyperactive-impulsive or inattentive symptoms that cause impairment must have been present before age 7 years
Some impairment from the symptoms must be present in at least 2 settings (eg, at home and at school)
There must be clear evidence of interference with developmentally appropriate social, academic, or occupational functioning
The disturbance does not occur exclusively during the course of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other Psychotic Disorder and is not better accounted for by another mental disorder
ADHD, Combined Type should be used if 6 (or more) symptoms of inattention and 6 (or more) symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity have persisted for at least 6 months

I was diagnosed with ADD, and my brother was diagnosed with ADHD. There is a definite difference, and you seem to know the difference. Both ADD and ADHD have similarities and differences. The lack of concentration, the easily distracted moments, the inability to concentrate with too much noise. Both have that in common. However, ADHD is different because of that little H, which means Hyperactive. You seem to have that, your symptoms sound strikingly similar to my brothers'. I would say you do, to some degree. Some people manage to get better with age, while others need medication because their symptoms are still strong as they age.

The shaky hands, inability to sit still, constant daydreaming, inpatience, loads of energy, all seem to paint a picture of my brother in my head. I would say yes, you are, and you need to talk about these things with a doctor. My brother took medication for 10 years. He is finally off, we are both in our mid-twenties now. I still have ADD, he still has ADHD, but he is a lot better than he was, and I think it is because of the medication. We no longer take medication, because it makes you feel not as free, or happy as you usually are. It makes you like a zombie, with no personality. But we do control ourselves much better.

It's hard to know.
I get hyper, I'm uncomfortable in a group of ppl who aren't really close friends, and I can't stay still, I have to fidget, move or daydream. I'm always daydreaming and I have a 5 minute attention span. Sometimes my friends say I have ADD but as a joke, and I'm kinda wondering myself.

A person with ADHD seeks attention and cannot control their hyperactivity. You could have a mild case, and I'm sure many people have mild ADD/ADHD and never get diagnosed for it.
If your parents think you're a handful, they can take you to a doctor and get you put on medication.

To finish work: set deadlines for yourself. to enforce these deadlines, reward yourself. if you start daydreaming, the time you spend daydreaming cuts into your "reward" time, so if you want to get alll your hwk done before your fav show starts, tell yourself it ALL has to be done and you wont watch until your hwk is completely done.
remove all distractions, even music unless it doesn't bother your concentration. if your desk has a pc on it, turn the pc off. if you have a tv where you do your hwk, put the remote far away from you so you aren't tempted to turn the tv on. little things like that.
Train yourself to concentrate and focus, so maybe you'll stop daydreaming. Being shy and awkward is normal in crowds, and if you had ADHD you'd probably be talking to everyone in the crowd and be the centre of attention.

If you're worried, go see a doctor and they can diagnose you. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

maybe people would like to diagnose you as ahdh but personally i don't believe in that crap.
I think people are people. They aren't meant to all be the same.
Just because someone doesn't pay attention in class doesn't mean they have a "disorder" or "syndrome". It means they just don't pay attention in class, they learn differently. I learn differently. I have always been this way and I refuse to let anyone say I have any sort of syndrome or learning disorder. Not everyone is the same. I think people these days are just too eager to "diagnose" someone with some sort of disorder instead of accepting the fact that humans aren't all identical.
