ADHD symptoms and remedies,,Help!!!!?

I think my daughters are ADHD and it's causing problems. Their older brother and me are always on edge and it's becoming a problem seriously. I am feeling like I don't like my daughters but I still love them. I have checked some websites on the symptoms but I would like some advice on something your kids might do that related to my situation. For instance, I have to repeat the same rules everyday, they don't listen AT ALL, they get into trouble at school, they are loud, disruptive and always crave sugar. If I buy any treats for them they are literally gone within a few days, those boxes of juice pouches are gone within just a few days. I am constantly stressed out and I know this isn't normal at all. Please help me and give me some tips and advice on how to deal with this. What symptoms did your child have that aren't conventional. Also, if you have some natural remedies that I can get from the pharmacy, pleeeaaassse let me know ASAP. Help, I have high blood pressure and I know this is contributing to it. They are 6 and 7. Thanks

Children with ADHD can be pretty frustrating to parent and behavior in general. I would HIGHLY suggest you look up a book called: "Allergies and they Hyperactive Child", by Dr. Doris Rapp. This book is written by a physician who studied a lot of children with ADHD and made some observations about them. She quotes a lot of studies and talks about how foods (and especially sugary things) effect them. You will probably be very interested in the examples of children she quotes in the book and might find some similarities in some of them. ADHD kids often crave sugary things and they can really effect them. You may need to cut out all the sugary things, wheat products and peanut products. Try to remain positive with them, but if they don't behave, they will need to have consequences. They may need to be sent to their rooms to calm down, if necessary. It is hard for siblings to see the ADHD children getting away with things. Please look the book up so you can find ways to help your girls and realize you are being a good parent.

ADHD is just an easy answer for everyone. I am not saying some kids don't have it but there are a lot of people who just want to label there kids to have an excuse so they think they are not to blame. Stop buying the treats, stop giving them so much juice and start parenting. Get them properly assessed for ADHD but I think you will find they don't have it. If you are serious about trying something then here is a diet for ADHD kids.

As a teacher, my biggest suggestion is to talk to your pediatrician. They will have you fill out a form and score it to see if it is possible. They will also give one to your child's teacher and compare the results - I think the form is called a Connors.

One of my parents of an ADHD kiddo has ommitted high fructose corn syrup and only goes natural on treats. It has helped a lot since she didn't want to go on the medicine route

my son and daughter has almsot all of them before they were tested

They can't help it. That's why it's a disorder. You need to do them a favor and get them psychiatric care. Other child's psychiatric disorders have many identical symptoms, so you need an OFFICIAL diagnosis. You cannot diagnose them.

If they grow up with the problems you are describing, they are missing out on the benefits of normal growth and learning and socialization and things like that. Difficult to make up for.

Why don't you do something? Like take them to a REAL psychiatrist, not Yahoo answers or your own mislead diagnosis.

Well, I can't answer about my kids but I can tell you for myself that ritalin is a God send and makes dealing with people tolerable. They are listening, you need to make sure consequences are in action - do not repeat yourself take away privileges when they go over the line, just becuase someone has ADHD does not mean they can't follow the rules - expect them to follow the rules. Stop buying treats if they eat them all, let them do without and earn them first, all kids crave sugar - they're kids with a lot of glucose usage in their brains. If they are loud and disruptive that must mean they need to go outside since that's outside behavior - send them outside.

A person is not ADHD, they may have ADHD but they are not ADHD. The things that help the most without prescription is exercise (which you need to do with them and that will help your blood pressure and lower your stress levels) and being outside in nature - not outside on a city street. Expect appropriate behavior, and get those girls moving. What helps the most is getting evaluated for ADHD, getting drug and talk therapy along with life coaching, don't knock it - having minimal brain dysfunction is a serious problem, it's not obvious but it makes it hard to live your life.
