CBT TREATMENT for ADHD????

COULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT CBT TREATMANT FOR ADHD IS AND IF ITS SUCCESSFUL..

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a type of behaviour therapy. CBT is a practical form of treatment that helps people develop problem solving techniques. The term cognitive behaviour therapy sounds daunting, but it simply reflects how the approach works:
cognitive refers to how you think about yourself and situations you find yourself in
the behaviour part refers to how you act or behave.

For example, cognitive behaviour therapy can teach skills that help an impulsive person to take a step back and work out an appropriate response before he leaps in and acts. But in most cases of ADHD, CBT is most helpful in managing the associated problems such as low self-esteem and relationship difficulties.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a method that counsellors use to try and re-train the way we react to situations, and our emotional responses. It is used mainly for the treatment of phobias and emotional conditions such as ADD.
