Whats the best meds for adhd?

my son has adhd..we tried foccolin, rispodal and niehter have worked..I tried gluton free diet already..whats the most popular md that works for adhhd..do not anse=wer unless you know about adhd..to many people judge parents of adhd kids..they wouldn't understand a child like this, unless they had one or has been around one..

I was in the same boat with my son, and those drugs did not work for him either. The methods in this article really helped turn him around. He get straight A's now, and has stopped acting out.

Have ya'll tried Adderall? That's what I take and it works well for me.

Good for you not giving your son chemicals! Drugs numb the kid down. Adhd kids do not need chemicals. That is a made up "disease" that was voted on at the psych convention one year just like all the rest of them. They vote and put the "disease" in a book so they can legally collect insurance money when the kid is on drugs. Then they get everyone to believe the kid needs chemicals in him to survive. They convince the parent it is a disease to make them feel better about parenting.

Kids are supposed to have a lot of energy. I understand completely, since I had 3 adhd sons who never took a drug in their lives. I was threatened by a principal if I didn't drug one of them immediately she was going to hire a lawyer to charge me with abuse and take them away. I was a single mom for 8 years. That was a scare tactic and it did not work because I knew how to handle the situation. But my kids were never drugged, and they were wild but in a good way. I let them make their mistakes and when people tried to judge me, I told them I knew what I knew best for my own kids. They are all grown up now (almost 30 years old) and very active, smart guys running businesses and doing well in life.

The point is, know what is right for your kids and just keep them off sugars and sodas at home. Cut back on TV... here is what I did by myself with 3 boys who thought it was fun to wrestle in the house and break stuff - oh, I could write a book of all the things they did!

I liked them no matter what anyone else said about them.
When the teacher told me one of my kids was "bad" I listened to my son first.
I drove a school bus to be around them more and see for myself how they acted, and they were fine.
I let them be wild at home and laughed with them, and had them run around the house 10 times once, and timed them to wear them out. They had a ball!
When the TV broke I never bought another one, and I never had cable TV, ever. I got them games to play, or they would wrestle outside and ride bikes. (one time the neighbors called the police on the boys because one was laying in the ditch saying help me after they wrestled. Today they tell everyone how much fun it was and they are all good friends with each other and each others wives)
I removed all sources of irritation from the house like wool (one had allergies) and red colors.
A doctor told me to rock my youngest son at night even though he was older, because he didn't get enough rocking when he was little. It really calmed him down a lot!
I never bought pop or sodas (I didn't have $) and instead we had a big water jug with a spigot. I said if you are thirsty, that is what water is for- go drink water.
I gave them natural vitamins to supplement school food which is almost worthless.
If you try and make a kid stop a behavior he will do it more. The way to handle it is see what they are interested in and help them achieve that, no matter what it is. If a parent tries to force a kid to do something he doesn't want to do, he will make your life miserable.
Anything that is done can be undone.
