When does ADHD go away?

I was wondering if ADHD/ which means attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ever go away if you have ADHD does it ever go away?

I'm 55 and I didn't get diagnosed w/ADHD until i was 40 because the prevailing wisdom in the pediatric medical community at the time was that ADHD did in fact go away with age .What actually went away was a concentrated population of people with ADHD aka students
I suspect you are discovering now is that ADD in adults is different than ADHD in children and teenagers For what it's worth my experience is that over a very long period of time the "H" drops out and you just learn to life with the good and the bad of being a very unique person w/ADD

it never goes away. you can learn to cope with it. it just takes a lot of work. sometimes meds can help for me meds didnt work but for some they do. i know i have it and it just means i gota work 10 times harder and do my best not to let it beat me.

If your brain chemistry was to alter somehow, you could guess that possibly some of the symptoms of ADHD may go away.

I don't expect it to go away, ever. And that's ok with me, so long as I can control it with meds.

sometimes it goes away as you age, but mostly your stuck with it your whole life :(
