Recipes for kids that ADHD Thank you?

My partner and I are having a house warming and birthday party. My grand son has ADHD, I would some recipes so he can feel a part of our celebrations. Are their internet sites you could recommend or some of your party foods that you do. I do buy sugar free lollies/candy/sweets for my grandson Thank you

It's great that you have put extra effort into making this a special event for everyone! Here are a couple recipes that wont leave your grandosn out. The website also has many many options to choose from. These two are my personal favorite desserts!

Spiced Apples Ala Mode

2 pounds Granny Smith apples, cored and cut into 1/2" thick slices
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
fat-free, no-sugar-added frozen vanilla yogurt

Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and layer mixture in a 9X13 baking pan. Drizzle with lemon juice. Cover and cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. To serve, spoon hot apple mixture into a bowl and top a scoop of frozen yogurt.

You can try with some sugar free vanilla ice cream!
Carob Fudge

1 c. pure maple syrup
1 T. carob powder, sifted
1/8 t. sea salt
2/3 c. soy milk
1/2 t. vanilla
1 T. soy margarine or butter
1/2 chopped nuts

Combine syrup, carob powder, salt and soy milk in a deep pan stirring until ingredients are blended. Cook over medium-high heat until soft ball stage (tiny drops of the mixture will form tadpole shapes when dropped into cold water.) Remove pan from heat, add vanilla and margarine, stir until mixture is smooth. While still warm, add nuts, stir, and pour mixture onto a well buttered plate. Cut into square before the mixture completely hardens.

I know you think that a sugar-free diet is what will help with ADHD, but there really is no scientific data / studies to support this belief. I had a terrible argument with a professor one time regarding this issue. I believed at the time that sugar did make kids hyper. He made me do a lot of research to back up my claim, and he indeed was right. It is nothing more than a myth.

Now, what I do believe contributes to hyperactivity is nitrates (preservatives) and maybe dye which is bad for other reasons as well. So, based on that belief, you might want to keep him away from processed foods (e.g. hot dogs) and brightly colored candy.

Other than the food, one of the best things you can do is provide lots of supervision and consistent limit-setting and consequences. Double messages and empty threats are a no no.

Make your grandson feel welcome and comfortable at the party, but make sure he has something to occupy his time and attention (e.g. a gameboy, video game, a DVD movie, comic book) while your focus will be on being the host of guests in your home.

I happen to Love Sugar Free Cake and Mousses, not because they are ALL tasty in general but because I found the best product that any diabetic/non-sugar eater would definitely come to admire. I found a company called eDietShop. They sell sugar free cake mixes that are only about 2$ and the Mousses are about 3$. They happened to have invented the sugar free cake mix and have even made the product better over the years. They even have sugar free icing to go with the cake. I love the Cakes and Mousses as well as the icing. You will like the guilt free cake mix as well.

just type in the web browser and ask for sugar free cakes for kids that should bring up somethings for you to try just tried it myself and loads of goodies came up good luck

I suggest lots and lots of sugar- like pixie sticks and just plain ole' sugar cubes. Then, give them Red Bull and Monster to drink. Of course, people never did trust me with kids..... =D
