Is there anyone out there on ADHD pills, anti depressants, and Bipolar medicine? |
because my friend is taking all of them and he says he feels funny and it makes him forget things like 5 min after it happens Yes, except for the ADHD medicine and sadly it does cause a lot of memory loss and cognitive slowness and sluggishness and having ADHD doesn't help. To an extent this is inevitable but he needs to talk to his doctor if it badly effects his life in a way that is worse off than if he was off the medication as if they mix them around a bit, there are combinations for everyone that minimize these side effects. These drugs effect the level of chemical messengers in your brain that control all your reactions and responses to stimuli and exciting or inhibiting them often results in changes in appetite, sleep, memory, concentration etc and in many cases it's a positive change but quite often the effects are adverse and get the level wrong and so the person feels like they're breezing through life, no real perception of time, a lack of concentration, changes in memory etc...it's normal, but it doesn't have to be THAT bad and he should discuss it with his doctor. Well, I don't have bipolar disorder, but I was taking antipsychotics until a few days ago for severe Tourette's syndrome. Many drugs can have strange side-effects, most notably the antipsychotics. I took Abilify which made me puke, Risperdal made me sleepy, Fluphenazine caused a freaky spasmic reaction, and Haldol made me have tardive dyskenisia, a disorder caused by these drugs that involves sometimes permanent movements of muscle groups. ADD/ADHD pills are usually mild stimulants which give your brain a little extra tap of juice to keep your thoughts flowing sequentially instead of being scatter brained. As for antidepressants, some have made me suicidal and horribly irratible, others have calmed my worries and let me live happily again. They tend to have drowsiness as side effects too. My 7 year old child is bi polar and has adhd.. We don't give her any kind of adhd medication..it makes her "cycle". She does take an anti depressant and an atypical anti psychotic... She doesn't have any problems so far feeling "weird" but i know several adults on these types of meds that are probally being over medicated and so they do feel this way. Tell him to Consult a doctor, you shouldn't be taking so many pills of that sort at once. Like...seriously yes your friend needs to talk to his doc, those sound like really dangrous side affects |
