Any ADHD medications that do not utilize amphetamines?

There are plenty of medications to treat ADHD that dont utilise amphetamines but these are generally far less effective than amphetamine based medications.

The blood pressure medication - Clonidine. Is often used. It does not improve attention but is effective for treating the hyperactive/impulsive ADHD behaviours. It is a popular choice for pre school children and those with severe behavioural problems.

Many different types of anto depressants are also used. These do help attention but only about 1/3 of the effectiveness of amphetamines. They also do well with treating behaivor. But there are more side effects to most anti depressants than amphetamines.

The anto psychotic, respirodone (respiridal) is also popular for treating ADHD with severe behaviour problems and aggression.

Strattera, a norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor.
