How effective is Dexedrine as an adhd medication, when compared to adderal?

i know adderal is by far the most expensive adhd medication, and was hoping to know what my other options were before i went in to talk to the doctor

I've taken both and I have had different levels of dosing for both as well as Ritalin. Its strange but the dosage and what medicine you take is different for everyone. It took me about a year to get settled into adderal but I think its the best, for me at least. It doesn't make me jittery or anxious, when on dexedrine I was very shaky but I am a music major and I have to perform alone quit often so being shaky and anxious was not an option for me especially because it gets worse in stressfull situations when your nervous. I would go in and ask questions because after a while my doctor said "well lets try the adderal, but i'm warning you I haven't had one patient yet who has done well on it" and now i've been taking it for 4 years.

Ask a lot of questions and go in with an open mind because it may take a few months to really find something right for you. Believe me it is worth it to take the time. Try to record how you feel every week you take the medicine and think about the bad things you feel and the good things because your doctor will want to hear both.
