Will new health insurance cover recently diagnosed ADHD? |
If a person was diagnosed with ADHD in February and switches to a new health insurance plan in May (due to a new job), will the new insurance company cover the prescription costs as the old one did? Chances are it will. You will have to contact the "new" insurance carrier to find out what exactly this employers policy includes and what preexisting clauses exist. Sometimes there is a waiting period (usually 6-8 months) that the insurance carrier will apply to new policies on preexisting conditions, meaning, that the companies sometimes won't pay for services related to a pre-ex cond for a certain period of time. If the new plan has the same prescription coverage as the old one did, yes. |
