Is Michael Phelps a good role model for children with ADHD?

I think so but my English teacher says he's not because of the whole drugs thing a losing his Kellogg's deal. What do you think and why?

Michael is a good guy. He's a good role model too because he fessed up and sincerely apologized. He's an honorable sort, not in the least sleazy. I'd stick with him. But you know the one who took the picture and put it on the internet is the real dork. That guy, I'd have nothing to with. He betrayed Michael by posing as his friend. Michael's 100 percent ok. Your teacher should rethink his/her expressed opinion and you should be a good guy like Michael and forgive the teacher for not thinking clearly about the matter. Anyway, no one is perfect.

He was able to overcome the limits of ADHD and achieve great success in the professional swimming arena.

He smoked weed... I don't support it, but I think that all of the fallout he's received is ridiculous. If he had been caught with steroids, then he should have been penalized severely. He got caught with a bong. Children need to understand the dangers of drug use, but the fact that he was caught with a bong doesn't stultify all of the GOOD things he's done. Everyone makes mistakes... even former President Clinton smoked weed. Just because someone isn't perfect doesn't mean that they should be criminalized forever.

It's not just ADHD children that he had an effect on. My son is into swimming and I don't care for what he did. Just because he said that he felt bad about it or something like that, doesn't make it ok. He needs to be accountable for his actions.
That is why famous people get away with everything is because they say sorry and that is it. But, yet, they keep doing it. HMMMM.

EDIT: I see the other person's comments, she mention that Clinton smoked weed, well, Bush was a drunk and did cocaine as so did Obama, but the difference between the presidents and Phelps is that they didn't do it while in office. BIG difference.

I don't think he is a good role model for any child because he did illegal drugs, and he might have apologized for it but sorry doesn't cut it.

Yes he is because he over came it.... besides he is only 23 its not like hes freakin addicted

yes. if you want your kids to be druggies
