Can someone with ADHD get hyper off their proscription pills?

I'm diagnosed with ADHD and I take Adderall 20 mg. If I take too many of my pills is it possible to get hyper off them since people who don't have ADHD that take it have the opposite effect?

I doubt it. You probably wont get hyper because you have AD HD but if you didn't it would have the opposite effect. If you take too many pills you would probably get really lazy and not be able to sleep for a while.

Adderall is a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. This is two different drugs which are like the illegal drug called "speed."

Normally people with ADHD are wired a little differently than the rest of the population. Something about the brain circuits of folks with ADHD reacts to these amphetamines as if they are a depressant or a tranquilizer.

So, it is possible that your own particular version of ADHD (how your specific brain is wired) will react to too much of these drugs as if they they are "speed."

I assume it is not a good idea for you to take more than your doctors prescribed for you.

ADHD pills when snorted are much like speed. That's why ritalin became so widely sold on the streets. People who abuse ADD meds don't just pop them. Some of you people are very WRONG!
