Advice on medication adhd?

my son has been diagnosed with extreme adhd 2 yrs ago he has had a lot of struggles in his life he has been on the lowest medication possible but still not enough i dont want to make his doseage higher i want to try a medication more friendly, any sugestions,
please bear in mind my son has extreme adhd he never sits still or stops talking
he has been moved from 2 schools because they cannot handle him, he is not naughty just toooo much energy

tried lots of medication only ritalin works all others have side effects

If ritalin works why change it?
The reason ritalin mat not be working as good as you like is that he could have developed a bit of tolerance 2 it so 2 be honest he could benefit from increasing the dosage.I was going 2 suggest you experiment with other medications but as you have said you have tried different types.
All of the adhd drugs have side effects but every1 reacts differently 2 them and its simply a case of trial and error.

I to take ritalin at 3x10mg a day and although this works 4 me i have bad insomnia and my appetite is supressed, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. You will never get any drug which is totaly without side effects so you just have 2 weigh up the pros n cons of each type of medication.
Other than that just make sure he eats a healthy balanced diet, and encourage him 2 participate in sports and exercise 2 burn of sum of the excess energy.
look at adhd as a gift ur child has and if channeled correctly can be of great benefit 2 his life..many of historys great poets, painters, writers and athletes had adhd.
good look.

Concerta has worked wonders on the children I have seen in my practice. 36mg daily is usually the trick unless the child is larger sized. There are side effects with growth though, and can stunt growth. Some people put the child on it for school, then take them off for the summers. This can help too.

PS
Then get on him on ritalin if that is what works. If

Other than that Fatty omega 3 acids seem to calm some kids down and caffeine too.

He really needs ritalin, Concerta, adderall, or ask about Daytrana. Its a patch you wear on your skin that gives you the same general med. Less side effects through the skin.
