My 12 year old son has adhd?

and he take addderall. i want him to have an incrrease on him meds. do i need to set up a doctor appt. for it do should i just ask the dr. to up his meds

My 16 yr old daughter has ADHD also she take Foclin...You should speak with the Doctor first in regards to why you feel like he needs a increase in his med.

ADHD is definitely over diagnosed and over treated. I'm not saying this in your case because I do not know your situation. But you need to look for every other solution before you increase any meds that he is on. Here are two suggestions:

1) give your son 1 dessertspoon of flax seed oil morning and night. This isi a natural oil and will help "feed" the brain. You should see an improvement, but you must be regular. Do this twice a day for seven days and see if you like the result. You will... it works...

2) Many times there are behavioral difficulties that are not actually associated with the diagnosis that we also need to treat. The best course available on the market is theTotal Transformation Program. I used this with mine, one ADD and one ADHD.

This guy responsible for this course came off the streets in New York and turned his own life around. He now runs a clinic and helps thousands turn around their kids and help them become better kids.

The program offers a 30 day free trial, so you can go and take a sneak preview without paying a cent. If the program doesn't live up to your expectations after 30 days, you don't pay a cent.

They also have a parental support line, which I find invaluable. You are never left alone dealing with your problems, you can always ring and chat to someone, who will guide you through your crisis.

I highly recommednd a combination of both of these methods for the very best outcome. If you do this, you might be taking your son off his meds all together pretty soon.

I wish you luck.

Those meds work like COCAINE, DO NOT USE THEM, I REPEAT.

COCAINE = VERY BAD
VERY BAD = DO NOT USE.

His Doctor will NOT know this, trust me, only a neruochemist will know this, an EXPERIENCED neurochemist.

No, unless you have gone through 4 years of college, 3 - 4 years of medical school, 2 years of internship and are qualified in the state you live in to give this sort of diagnosis. Otherwise you let the doctor make the call. No wonder kids turn to drugs.

The doctor needs to evaluate him before any additional meds are given. Maybe he needs a change in meds altogether to something different if the adderall isn't helping. Take him to the doctor.

ADHD remains overdiagnosed, overtreated

Have you tried using a nicotine patch on him? It is a natural substance, safer than speed, and works very well in some kids. And no, it is not addictive in this form.
Look it up on the Web.

omg..dont play doctor with drugging your kid. He shouldnt be on speed to begin with and now youre wanting to be mucking up his dosage? Hope you have money for dialasis and a good connection to get on the liver list

Call your son's doctor. From your question it does not appear that you should be making that decision.

ADHD really shouldn't be thought of a disease like people treat it. It's more of a TRAIT than anything.
