Do you beleive in ADHD?

Or do you think its more an allergy to food additives?

I do believe that ADHD exists but unfortunately doctors nowadays are handing off Ritalin prescriptions like lollipops. Most children "diagnosed" with ADHD don't actually have it, they are simply active children.

I once lived next door to a teenage boy who actually had ADHD. He was extremely hyperactive, he couldn't even sit still for a moment. He also couldn't focus on basic conversations. He would constantly lose his train of thought or lose track of what you were saying.

I've heard many teenagers and parents of children say that they have ADHD, but among them he was the only one who I would say really had it.

Of course ADHD exists! Those twits on here that "don't believe in it" just don't have a clue!

ADHD is a medical condition caused by certain neurotransmitters in the brain not working effectively. They are specifically dopamine and epinephrine.
This results in not enough BGL(blood glucose) reaching certain executive functioning areas of the brain.
Therefore people with ADHD are not able to concentrate all the time and find it very difficult to do tasks in the right order.

I have ADHD and would describe it like your brain is a computer with too many programs running all at once, so your processing speed becomes very slow and sometimes just locks up and crashes. Taking medication is like being able to go into the 'task manager' and 'set priority' to each program, allowing you to focus on one thing at a time.

Not everyone with ADHD is hyperactive (that is just a side effect in some people). And the reason people with ADHD can focus on SOME things and not others is because of 'hyperfocus' (also part of ADHD), which is because interesting activities will actually produce additional dopamine in your brain, resulting in more BGL and therefore the ability to focus.

of course i believe in it, it is a medical condition

i work in a school and a few children i work with closely suffer from ADHD and although the symtoms can look a bit similar to that of a food allergy, there is an obvious difference

plus doctors do actually diagnose people with the condition
hope i helped ;]

No I dont believe in it. I think it is caused by their diet and video games. I have witnessed several so called ADHD kids that can sit for hours upon hours playing video games, but ask them to do anything else such as school work forget it all of a sudden they just cant seem to think..I think video games are warping the minds of our children and I think that parents need to stop buying them for their young children, especially kids that are about to start school for the first time. Their minds are so impressionable at that age. No one ever had ADD or ADHD before video games came on to the market

yes i have it

but i belive there are other ways to take care of it

i was on Aderall XR and other medications for 15 years of my life

and it convinced me that i was depressed. i started cutting and doing meth and ****.

bad things did happen in my life but i think the Medication made it all worse.

i think ppl should diet instead of taking meds

but it is real
i have it Majorly bad and i dont eat sugars or meat

Yes I do, My Fiance has it and so does my nephew who is almost 5. My nephew does not take medicine for it because my sister and her husband have found other ways to deal with it and do not wish to have their son on un needed medication. But yes I do believe in it.However, There are some kids who just eat WAY too much candy and drink too many sodas.

Well yeah! I've seen this in action and believe me, there is no way it could just be an allergy or anything else. I've seen the medicine work, and sometimes not work, you just have to find out what works best for each child.

No. I think that's just too much sugar from soda and candy. But it can also be just because kids are naturally energetic. I don't see a need to medicate for that.

I think that....a squirrel fell off my roof.... I believe you misspelled believe.....He's ok..the squirre...I lost my pencil.
No. the question!!!

yes i do because it is not just something children have. It is also an adult disorder!
