Is my 2 yr old son eligible for ssi since i get it for adhd? he lives with me alone and we are barely makingit? |
i was told today that my son would get a check also since i am on ssi for adhd and he may be eligible for a benefit. you need to talk to your caseworker at the social security office. No, social security only pays the person with the disability. It doesn't pay the child of the person with it. Who told you that you would get a check for your son also? You need to speak with that person and get names and numbers of someone who can help you further from them. If they told you that you would get a check, certainly you can get their number and find out why it hasn't happened yet. I don't know what state your in, but usually the best way to go about that is to get either cash aid or child support if you are single. If not, there are low income assistance programs. Talk to social services about that. I don't think it works like that since you are the one with a "mental illness". You can not get ssi for adhd |
