Once suicidal? always suicidal? Is there a link between suicide and ADHD?

I am seeing a guy who was adopted when he was 13 months old from an orphanage. He had very bad case of ADHD and tried to kill himself when he was 15 years old. I am wondering if there is a link between ADHD and suicide? Once he got taken off the drug, he has stopped feeling suicidal. Do you think his risk of die by suicide is higher than normal population? thanks

Yes, ADHD being a mental disorder that is related to Autism, and is sometimes called an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). It can cause depression and sometimes suicidal tendencies. ADHD isn't a made up disorder as most people would like you to believe, and its not just "lack of attention". There are more symptoms than most people want to believe.

Some anti-depressants can worsen suicidal thoughts, this is why keeping in touch with a doctor is important. He probably has a high risk of suicide, and he should get counseling with a psychiatrist.

Well...you see, there is a lot of neurology behind all of the mental/psychological problems like ADD/ADHD and depression/suicidal-tendency. I've read a but-load about this stuff...I'm not a doctor or even an adult, but I have a lot of problems and care about their sources. I have Tourette's, OCD, ADHD, Asperger's... Anyways.
What I think is that number one: a lot of neurological conditions can cause extra stress in people's lives. second: the extra stress can make them more likely to become depressed. third: sometimes they may react badly to the medication and become perhaps depressed or even suicidal. (that happened to me at age ten!) fourth: the problem of depression is related to ADHD, it is actually sort of co-occuring in my personal experience...not much fun. : ( But you can work to beat it. And when it works...it's great. : )

No, i dont believe that.... he may have drug sensativities, and I have given you the resources you need to test for them....
plus a healing site /method that works, please give them to him and try them yourself if you want to
