I'm just wondering is it ever too late to be diagnosed with ADD/ADHD?

I was reading about it recently, my father and brother both were diagnosed with it. Is that any factor? Besides that I realized that I suffer from many almost all symptoms of the inattentive type of it. I've experienced this as long as I can remember. grade school on up, I am 20 now is it too late to be diagnosed?

ADD runs in my family. I've looked into treatment and I'm 60 years old.
It's never to late to get treatment. But don't wait until you are my age!!!

No it isn't too late. You should see your doctor. Many adults are diagnosed later in life because it wasn't as prevalent before. Most parents just chalked it up to kids that were bored. Do be careful though and get a second opinion. Doctor's tend to lump any unknown attention issues as ADD these days and just hand over pills to treat it. The pills can be useful on a short term basis but honestly you're better off finding natural ways to deal with the loss of focus. Activities that help clear your mind and set your focus will help you much more in the long run. Things like Yoga, Tai Chi, Deep Breathing exercises, and meditation are fantastic for clearing out a cluttered mind. These are things anyone can do they aren't hard it just takes a little research and practice.

No, it's never too late to be diagnosed. Many men (yes, it's usually men) only realise that they always had the problem after their sons are diagnosed and they can see history repeating itself.

nope. you can be diagnosed with it at any age before 40/
