How to cope with ADHD? |
My 7 year old son is ADHD. I had to take him off his meds. so he would gain some weight( the meds. had him under weight) He is doing a lot better health wise off of it. BUT people ....adults and children are so mean to him and make fun of him when he has a bad day. Parents going through this or has went through advise would be so appreciated! He is such a sweet and smart child...I hate to see him suffer. Sometimes I just breakdown and cry, its so overwhelming. i would ask the psychiatrist about trying different variants on the medication (for example time release, etc). Maybe a different set of medication will allow for the heath and symptoms to be treated. Give him 3 Omega 3 fish oil supplements*, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or its FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. See sections 22 - 25, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris * enter "krill oil" & "ADHD" in the searchbar, at http://www.mercola.com Most people are suggestible, to some degree, so you could either seek professional hypnotherapy, or, quicker, cheaper, and more conveniently: http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com Perfect Partners: Manage ADHD + Improve Impulse Control I have a son with ADHD. Did you ask your doctor about giving him something for appetite? That same thing happen with my son, not gaining weight. His doctor didn't take him off his meds but gave him a pill that gave him an appetite. It would be worth asking if he is not do well off his meds. |
