My husband is on Aderall for ADHD. Will this affect our chances of pregnancy?

We had an "oops" baby 21 months ago and would like to try for another... He was not on adderall then. Will adderall affect his chances of us concieving and his firtility?

No doubt you have noticed the changed in your husband鈥檚 moods when he is on Adderall, and when he is coming down from the medication? Adderall is a medicinal psychostimulant, and like all others, it affects the chemical/hormonal balances in the brain, particularly the dopamine and norepinephrine. I鈥檓 looking at an information pamphlet about Adderall and it states 鈥淎dderall is widely reported to increase alertness, concentration and overall cognitive performance while decreasing user fatigue鈥? That word 鈥渄ecreasing user fatigue鈥? I wonder if it applies to the bedroom.
The bad news is, there have been cases reported in adult males, where Adderall decreases libido. An older friend of mine says he has experienced these side effects, and the word Impotence was mentioned too.
I bet your starting to regret asking this question now? Don鈥檛 fret, there is good news.
These sexual side effects of Adderall are very rare, most cases Adderall was not directly linked as a cause.
I suggest you consult a GP or men鈥檚 healthcare specialist, also, it would be unwise to combine Adderall with a male performance enhancer, they both increase blood pressure and heart rate.
