Do you think that adhd is an excuse for a lot of misbehaved children? |
Do you believe that this is a REAL disorder or is it an excuse for parents to get their children on meds to calm them down so they don't have to deal with them? Is it all about business, like for the doctor's and medication companies to make money? Is it a lack of discipline? What's your opinion on this "disorder"? ADHD is quite real (countless scientific studies have proven it beyond a shadow of a doubt). I do think tat it gets overdiagnose, but im 13, I have it, and I KNOWWWW its real. About 5 percent of people have the real thing, others say they do, but regardless its really hard to go through. A lot of people who are diagnosed don't even go on medication, so it is definately not an excuse for parents to get their kids on pills. Most are dreading that moment that the doctor prescribes something like that. There are books on ADHD you can read, there are doctors you can go to, but yes, it's real. There is no question that ADHD is real. It can be seen on brain scans including both MRI and PET scans of the brain. There are clear and obvious differences between the ADHD brain and the normal brain. As someone who had a brother who was ADHD back in the 60's when this disorder was just being understood I KNOW it's a real problem. My parents had no problem disciplining us. My mother used to tell us that it was a benevolent dictatorship and we did what she said because she was the mother. But my brother couldn't keep still with out help. He would jump from place to place he would jump from one topic to another with in the same sentence. J got kicked out of nursery school, a camp for kids with LD's and kindergarten. My parents didn't believe in spoiling their kids not even me and I had physical disabilites J was put on ritialian when it first came out and even that didn't help entirely but it did enough that he could go to school. But by the time that he got home he needed to work that suppressed energy out and he'd go crazy no matter what my parents did. I'm sure that they could have beat him into submission but what would have been the point. He calmed down some what when he reached adolescence. But even as an adult he had problems. He resorted to drugs to help calm him down and got into trouble and died in jail. So I know that it's a real thing and if you ever had to deal with a child who has it you would know also. Yeh man ADHD is real im 14 and have adhd and like the dude said you dont act know what it feels like unless you have it What is ADHD? Attention Deficit Disorder. I believe children need, want, and deserve attention without drugs. Children who are cared for listened to and loved dont need drugs of this sort. I don't believe in this so called disorder. yes sometimes it is |
