Now that I'm eighteen my health insurance won't pay for my ADHD medication, why is this?

I'm still in high school, & I can't focus without it. But I cant afford it without insurance, its like $200 a bottle without it. I'm almost in tears, I've asked this in two other sections, and nobody has answered. I'm on the verge of an anxiety attack.

I'm freaking out, why are they doing this?

My parents cant afford it either.

& my mom was the one who found this out.

Call your insurance and find out why they don't pay anymore

Take a breather for a second and organize yourself.

Okay, contact/tell your parents about the situation. Tell them you need it so you can concentrate and be better in school. Tell them about your health insurance plan and stuff.
I would call your insurance company ASAP.

they may only pay for the generic version of it.
i would call and ask why it is no longer covered and see if there is anything they can do.

there are meds that you should be able to take...maybe it is just this certain med. either you or your parents need to call about this and ask...and maybe even appeal to get it covered.

Calm down!
Call them or talk to your parents to see if they can help. :D

get a job.
or live with ADHD. it's
not the worst thing in the world.
