ADHD/ Depression/ Rage? |
My husband is 46. Three months ago he developed depression and rage. He is unaware of what occurred during the rage the next day. He is stressed, but not particularly angry about anything. The mind is a very complicated thing. If your husband never had rage issues before, and now that he is on an amphetamine, I definitely think that there could be a correlation. There are counselors who specialize in rage therapy, as well as a Rageaholic Anonymous support group if he needs one. Honestly, if he never was violent before, he is probably dealing with something very traumatic from his past. He cannot ever be violent to you. If he is physically violent to you, you need to leave him and try to get him help from a far. Otherwise, if you are not afraid of him then you need to try and help him. If you cannot afford help, you can either go to your church or the United Way. If you can afford help, there are tons of avenues for you to explore. I'm Chris's wife and I went through this with Chris also. He's bipolar, ADHD, anxiety, and on several medications for this. But his rage was over the top and then some. So he went for extra help to deal and cope with his rage. He never ever touch me, he never ever screamed at me or the kids. He would go outside in our back yard and throw his fit or rage out there and walk for 3 and 5 hours to cool down. Since getting the extra help he's dealing with his rage much better. He's actually back to his old self since the help. He now knows how to deal with it and what to do when it gets to that point. Docters have recentley discovered that men have a menopause as well as women, and even a "period". They do not show physical signs such as bleeding but there is an increase in testosterone making them depressed and agnsty a few days at a time per month and similar effects in their later years such as 45-55...or he could just be pissed about something. Ask him gently. actually, im 16 and i have been on adhd pills since i was 5. |
