I'm adhd and I can't concentrate? Any suggestions? |
I am trying to do my homework and I just can't concentrate on the materials. Does anyone with adhd have any advice for me to be able to buckle down. I took my meds and they aren't helping. I just took my medication so it hasn't worn off yet. Good advice though. I am on Vyvanse and it increases my impulsiveness and anxiety, but it feels so damn good to be on. You may need an increase in dosage since I'm not sure if it's not working at all or it has worn off. If the problem is it has worn off, then try doing your work earlier in the day. Try doing segments such as you'll study for 45 minutes, play or relax or whatever for 15. Then head back to it for 45 minutes. This way you know you have to buckle down, but it's a short time and then you can take it easy for a while. Yeah, I'm ADHD too. It's extremely difficult to deal with, but sadly there's no easy solution. It's something that for the rest of your life you will be fighting. I like to chew gum while doing homework. It usually helps me concentrate. Do you take a med for it? tell your doctor to increase your meds. |
