Should I apply for Financial Aid (FAFSA) at the age of 18 or under? |
Ok, i'm confused, My goal right now is to go to John Jay college, I'm 17 right about now, and I turn 18 on November 11th. Should I apply for Financial aid at the age of 18, or right now?? The deadline is Oct. 1st for John Jay for January. How does this work, my mothers income is around 35,000, my father doesn't live with me but his income is like $55,000. If I turn 18 I would be making like $25,000, so should I wait to I'm 18 when I'm on my own, or do it right now. Does it matter since it ask's for my parents income? I don't know what to do, if I wait then I would be in John Jay like July 2009, Or right now In Jan. 2009 Before Oct. 1st? What should I do??? If your parents take you as a dependent on their taxes, you will need to give your parents' incomes. Age doesn't matter on the fafsa. You need to apply by the deadline fo the school if it is oct, then do it by october. |
