What the ratio to gay-strait people with aids?

Has there ever been a study done on this?

the 2007 Centre for Disease Control statistics inidicate that of all the new cases of HIV 67% were MSM ( men who have sex with men) and of that 67% ....9% were men who have sex with men and also abuse intravenous drugs.

I didn't read the entire article and didn't do a ton of research, but this popped out at me:

"In the USA, it is estimated that nearly 220,000 men who have sex with men were living with HIV/AIDS in 2006, and nearly 5,000 had died. Around 48% of men diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the USA in 2006 were probably exposed to the virus through male-to-male sexual contact.1"

So, that would mean 52% of men diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the USA in 2006 were probably exposed through male-to-female contact, right?

the first answer may or may not be correct, i'm not sure. I have never seen a scientific review of the data.

Frankly, if it is higher in the gay population, it has everything to do with the fact that gay people, especially gay teens, can't be who they are and have to sneak around to have sex...which generally puts them in dangerous situations...sometimes they feel they just need to have sex to KNOW...so they get with someone they don't know...if we were able to talk about being gay openly...if the world was more accepting...he could go up to a man in class and ask him to go out without having to worry about people making fun of him (too much)...he would eventually find someone less shady. My opinion.

Plenty o'studies...in southern Africa the gay - str8 ratio is actually 1:10, as the vast majority of PWAs (Persons with AIDS) there are married str8 guys who visit infected female prostitutes and don't use condoms...
