Acupuncture to Induce Labor? |
Did acupuncture actually work for anyone to induce labor? I have not tried this myself but at a recent birthing class I took this same question was asked to the women in the class. Out of the 20 or so couples in the class there were three women with previous births that they had started by acupuncture. The childbirth educator even recommended it and gave us a hand out with a few local drs who specialized in the procedure. The next best suggestions she had were nipple stimulation, sex (with orgasm for the women and semen making contact with the cervix), walking and castor oil. i didn't try it but i tried a lot of other things....including walking, sex, pinneapples, etc. none of it worked :/ my son came when he came -- a week late!! good luck! I saw a show on the Discovery Channel where a woman did this and it worked. |
