Does your cat have food allergies? What kind of food do you feed them if they do?

the cat went to the vet yesterday people. the vet had suggestions but i'm just trying to find out what other people do as well.

My oldest cat has food allergies. I feed her Before Grain Tuna plus high quality canned food, usually Merrick brand. If your cat is having reactions to its food you need to take it to the vet and have an allergy test run. Yes they have them for animals, its much better than spending months changing foods and guessing at what your cat is really allergic too. Many times its a grain allergy and switching to a higher quality food works great, you don't necessarily have to go as high as grain free. My other 5 cats eat California Natural Chicken & Rice plus canned. Healthwise is a great food at an economical price, but 2 of my cats don't do well on it.

It entirely depends on the allergy. If you even suspect your cat is allergic to anything in their cat food, I would take it to the vet and you two can plan out a diet that will be better for your cat. Many people prefer a raw diet to canned food anyway, that may be a way to go for you. Good luck!!

Well you didn't mention he has already been to the vet :) A raw diet is usually best for a cat with allergies, but it depends what they are allergic too, often its wheat or different grains. I would look into raw feeding.

whoa, thats a good question. If you really think your cat is having a reaction to its food, change it to a better quality and talk to a real vet immediately

I know animals could have allergies about different things, so it is possible. Do what your vet suggests.
