Is there a self-treatment for Alzheimer's disease?

If someone had Alzheimer's disease, how could they control it by changing some of his or her daily habits?

Do you or someone you know have it? I just lost a loved one to the disease and their is no self-treatment. Even medications don't work that well. I guess you could try activities/puzzles that stimulate the brain, but I don't think this really works either. E-mail me if you ever need the point or view of someone who has been through this disease with a loved one who had it at a young age.

I did some quick research for you and found the following link at MentalHelp.net. I hope it will help.

It's a brain disease. There is no cure, but medications will slow it down.

There is no effective self treatment.
