If Alzheimer's turns out to be a "lifestyle disease", will you have less sympathy for those afflicted by it?

"Alzheimer's Disease Could Be A Third Form Of Diabetes"
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/200...

I don't understand why people are taking this question to heart. It implies no bias whatsoever... They clearly don't have the motivation to read the article you've provided to shed light on the reasoning for your question. Jeez... everything is always a "personal attack" on here. Buncha Nancy's...

With that said, I think this is interesting, and a possible medical advance for the human race. They have preventative measures now and medications for people with diabetes, so this being looked upon as a "type 3" diabetes could mean medicine for those affected by Alzheimer's, which is fantastic.

I have no sympathy for anyone who doesn't take care of themselves... whether it be obesity or a heart attack. It is sad, indeed. However; in most cases had the person taken care of themselves throughout their lifespan, they probably wouldn't have run into these issues... right? I understand some things are hereditary, and those circumstances I sympathize with, but I do believe for the most part it is up to you and we as a whole have the tendency to blame everything that goes wrong on someone else and point the finger when in fact, it should be pointed right back at us.

Interesting info buddy :)

**Regardless of what the FDA "tells" us is okay, shouldn't we be intelligent enough to decide what we put into our bodies?? Again, the blaming of someone else. I thought we were more advanced as a human race... the FDA says McDonald's is edible, but I sure as hell won't go within 50 feet of that place...

check MSG and aspartame , fluoridated water supplies, growth hormones, GM crops and you may find a culprit for Alzheimer's

Edit.. that only names a few of the most commonly consumed toxins

now my real answer.... no I will not have less sympathy for them because we are being poisoned by our food the FDA approved.. the life style that should be changed is the lies the FDA sells us at the hands of lobbyists

I doubt that it is a lifestyle disease. It's more likely environmental.

Conversely, I recently read an article that said that marijuana could potentially prevent Alzheimer's.

Bring on the reefer baby.

No. Alzheimer's totally sux. If it is caused by something in a person's lifestyle, they are completely unaware.

Considering that a large portion of diabetes sufferers are not heavy nor did they contribute to their own disease...NO.

Well, liberalism is a 'lifestyle disease" so -

this is kind of a cruel question, and i hope you dont get struck by irony in the future..

No! I have empathy unlike some on here!
