Is it possible to get Alzheimer's disease before your even thirty?

For a few year's now I've felt like I'm getting more and more forgetful about things and I've told a doctor this and they told me not to worried about it but it's still pretty unsettling for me because I do have a family history of Alzheimer's disease but I've never herd of anybody ever getting it before thirty and I'm 27 so I'm wondering is that even possible or am I just being paranoid?

There is such a thing as Early-onset Alzheimer's disease, but that's defined as symptoms starting before age 65. Only 5-10% of Alzheimer's patients have the disease before 65, so you can imagine that showing signs of it at 27 would be very rare.

Like you mentioned, a younger age of onset is linked to familial Alzheimer's. So if a parent/aunt/uncle and grandparent developed Alzheimer's really young age (before 65, not necessarily 27), you can go and have genetic testing to see if you have the defective gene. It may actually give you some peace of mind. You can also go to a neurologist who can do specific memory testing on you to try to characterize your symptoms if they're negatively affecting your life.

That being said, I'm 26 and in med school and I forget things constantly. Sometimes I actually think information is leaving my brain faster than it's going in. Hope everything works out for you!

If you're thinking, "I've got Alzheimer's, I've got Alzheimer's," It's gonna make your brain start thinking, "You've got Alzheimer's, you've got Alzheimer's. STOP REMEMBERING, BODY!!!!!"
So, i recommend not letting it bother you because if you tell your brain something is wrong, it'll make something wrong.

You're probably fine, but if it's hereditary, it's hereditary.

Well, your probably are worried. It's normal to forget and have some memory loss. If you are having trouble retrieving information... Forget words, can't grasp words, forget in the middle of a sentence, you could just need some B vitamins. Also cut out MSG (food poison) which is disguised in about 30 other names, look it up online and stop Aspartame/Splenda and all artificial sweeteners they can cause brain tumors and damage.. Look it up!.. Eat heathy and get exercise!.. I've also heard red-clover can reverse brain damage and block the effects of toxins we eat/drink. Buy some at health food stores and avoid them.

Alzheimer's disease is caused by

a) Brain degeneration problem caused by apolipoprotein common for elderly people

b) Declining brain functions due to brain cells apoptosis for stroke patients

c) Both cases

So unless you have these symptoms, maybe you don't have it.

You might not have Alzheimer's because of your age. But you might have something else. You might be under stress or overworked which might cause you to be forgetful. Or else, you might have ADD. You will have to see a doctor if the condition worsens. Therapy or medication might be helpful.

The world is moving so fast, it is easy to forget. You are not alone. When you have a lot of things to do, you will forget. The researchers are not really sure what causes alzheimers.

y, but unlikely
