Transgender: Where can I buy legal eostrogen and anti-androgen pills within the UK?

I'm a 16 year old pre-op male-to-female transsexual and I'm on the waiting list for Porterbrook Gender Clinic run on the NHS and I can't afford private, at all, i wish i could but I can't. I'm not even sure I can afford hormones, i just don't want to be waiting 6years before I can start becoming who i truly am, so I can wear dresses and skirts and buy girly things and everything(well actually i can't because my Mum will confiscate them but taht's a different story), so what if I can actually buy that stuff and wear it, doesn't make me anymore of a girl, anyone can buy a dress and that, i want my body mto be more feminine, to have breasts, etc, at least that way a 6year wait won't seem so bad. Even if I can buy hormones I don't intend to start until 18 though but it's still a 4year wait which is a long time, atleast if I was on hoirmones that'd seem more bareable.

Where can I legally buy hormones and anti-androgens in the UK without affecting my place as a patient on the NHS?

Didn't I mention the word legal clearly enough or do i need to put it in capital, or put it on a gigantic sign post over the M1 motorway, last i check dodgy drug companies and dealers were ILLEGAL, I asked for LEGAL, normally meaning government approved and safe to an extent, LEGAL, clear enougfh for you. I am very agitated currently and unless you intend on giving me useful information about a legal company that sells eostrogen and anti-androgens legally just don't bother answering this wquestion cos I ain't in the mood other than the mood to kill myself which if I can';t atleats get one part of my body feminine soon, i will do.

Hi Lilly

With out medical supervision I do not think you can get them legally. Birth control pills will not give you a therapeutic dosage and are dangerous.

Would your G.P. be willing to learn the information needed to feel comfortable prescribing them? Perhaps he/she would be willing to consult with an endocrinologist.

I'm sorry but you can't do it legally

Do not take anything like this without medical advice

if you have any female friends/cousins you could talk nice to them to see if they could get some contraceptive pill from the doc for you.....not the best advise but all i can think of........

wooooooow... just wait for the NHS... at least then you know your in safe hands - not buying drungs off some random person/place...

Nowhere on a paper round.

Hi, Lily.

Firstly, I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I'm a transsexual man and so I do know how it feels. I've had to delay hormone treatment due to fears of society's reaction, which upsets me a great deal as I know you will understand.

The fact of the matter is that I don't think it is a good idea to obtain hormones in the manner you describe. You can't be sure they are genuine, and they could potentially be harmful to you.
It's agonising, I know, to have to wait, but we all must do it.
Remember, one part of your body IS female. Your mind, who you are, is female, so hang on and the rest will follow. I know this is scant comfort on the bad days we all have, but while we may not like our bodies as they are currently, they are all we have to work with and so we must take care of them.
Currently, I am trying to work out and slim down a little so that I can look more masculine. There are things you can do to move on your own transition too, while you are waiting, such as improve your skill with make-up, hair and body language.
I know it all seems like a very long wait, but at the very least, take heart in the fact that by the time you are my age (thirty) your transition will be complete. You'll be able to enjoy being who you are, and your life will still be in front of you, these years being nothing but a memory.

Take care of yourself.
