Anxiety disorder when they get told off?

Hello

This is a question about a care home or supported living.

If there was a service user that had the following problems...
**A heart problem which is misdiagnosed as anxiety neurosis
**A problem with hot whether also misdiagnosed as anxiety neurosis
**A problem where the staff complain excessively about his behaviour
**A problem with physical and verbal abuse from staff

Then if you assume that telling the service user off is not an offense to be able to fire the staff with...

What would happen if...

The service user took the managers of these staff to the doctors and the service user told the doctors that they have to keep going to hospital (ER) suffering palpitations attacks because of the telling off and moaning the staff do.

Remember that the staff do not care if they shout, and the doctors cannot ever be convinced that the service user does not have anxiety problems.

If the staff lie to the doctors, the service user shows proof of the moaning with a tape recorder.

What will happen when the doctors tell the staff not to get annoyed and the staff insist that they have a right to get annoyed?

Mayhem? Or will one problem I mentioned above cancel out the other?

Snow Man

Anxiety attacks are often misdiagnosed as heart attacks. It is almost impossible to tell the difference without an EKG. In all fairness, some heart conditions can be misdiagnosed as anxiety because that is one of the symptoms of many heart irregularities. There are heart disorders in which the symptoms come and go quickly enough that the residual anxiety is later the only detectable symptom, but these are quite rare. Cardiologists can run stress tests that will uncover almost any condition.

Problems with hot weather, especially hot, humid weather, can be symptomatic of many conditions, such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, COPD, and congestive heart failure. When a person feels it is hard to breathe anxiety sets in, which in turn makes it harder to breathe. Many times the anxiety must be treated before the cause (called dyspnea) can be treated.

Anxiety attacks are almost always caused by impotent anger. and the trigger for the attack may not be even remotely related to what has angered the patient.

For the staff of a care facility to begin complaining about a patient's behavior, there is usually a long-term problem with irrascibility and sometimes verbal and/or physical abuse on the part of the patient.

Physical and verbal abuse by either staff members or patients is not to be tolerated, and there are many means of recourse:
Confront the individual involved with the observed behavior. If this doesn't remedy the problem, complain to the Charge Nurse. If this doesn't remedy the problem, complain to the Nursing Supervisor. If this doesn't remedy the problem, complain to the patient's Social Worker. Next in line if the facility Administrator. Make sure you document the alleged offense and the steps taken, with the results. All States have a licensing and inspection department for care facilities, and most will move swiftly on an abuse allegation. If the situation warrants, and you believe it to be urgent, call the police. Remember, though, that restraint of a patient is not necessarily abuse.

On the other side of the coin are people who try to ride roughshod over other patients and staff. Sadly, these people do need to be told off on a regular basis.

A change in care facility might well be in order.
