How do I control the symptoms of my Generalised Anxiety Disorder? |
I am still a kid, fourteen turning fifteen, and after I recovered from my panic disorder I had another problem. While I was having my panic disorder, I also had GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and the GAD hasn't gone away. And my dad wants to help, but he simply won't go up against my mum. As for my mum, there's no possibility anyone can bring her to reason. I was shaking, barely breathing in my room, a 13 year old kid, her daughter, and she left me and told me to just relax. First off, I'm sorry your mom won't help you get help. There are a couple of ways you can go by this. You NEED to go to your GP and they will send you to a health clinic near you for counselling which will help your needs. this will be free if done through your doc as it will be on he NHS. You obviously have Internet access...use it! Study meditation and work on it. It takes a while, but with practice you can use it quite successfully. Also, do some research on your condition. This time of year is a peak time for anxiety! The brain is adjusting to the over stimulation caused by the changing of the seasons (added light and such create spikes in serotonin levels that have been linked to increased anxiety). |
