Anybody having a tough time with anxiety disorders and panic attacks?

I've been diagnosed with GAD and major depression.Been on meds for 3 years.Still can't relax or sleep good at night. Also have panic attacks.Anyone with similar problems or advice please reply...

I have suffered from Panic Disorder for 6 years now, and have bouts of depression that come and go. Although I have been on medication for a while that really helps regulate my symptoms, I still go through rough patches about twice a year where I can't sleep, concentrate, have no motivation to do anything, get more frequent attacks. Usually there is an underlying factor (an impending transition or life change, stress coming from multiple angles of life - work/school/family/relationship - etc.) You may want to try a new medicine, as most people don't find the best one for them their first try. The other possibility is just that you need to get rid of some of your responsibilities for a little while until you are feeling better.

Hang in there. You will get through this!

If you don't already, take up some sort of exercise.
This is by far the best cure for depression.
Panic attacks come from having the need to fight or flee from something. You need to go for a quick walk or run or use some sort of exercise equipment.
Eat a healthy diet and you will feel more like doing some exercise. The reverse is true too, have regular exercise and you will tend to want to eat healthily.
Doing all this will help you sleep and relax too.
Weight training does it for me.

Hi there Rock.

Often panic attacks, anxiety and depression are connected. I belive it all have something to do with fear. Even the depression. Perhaps the fear of not getting rid of the depression???

I think you should look in to the panicaway program, it also have a chapter about depression, and the best part is that you can get your money back if it doesn't work out for you.

I found this video review here: http://tips-to-prevent-panic-attacks.com even though it is a bit amateurish it will give you an idea of what yto expect :)

Depression and panic attacks were a big part of my life, have come out of last depressive episode but panic attacks are still an issue. Maybe consider counselling or attending a support group? I'm slowly learning to control my irrational anxieties and panic attacks, just remember that it is achievable :)

I have Aspergers syndrome, depression, anxiety and ADHD. I am going threw the same problam right now. I'v taken meds for panic attacks and no help but I know how you feal.

I tend to feal better after I'v writen a lil bit

I wish I could help but im going threw the same thing

Try going off the meds.
