How can I get help for my anxiety disorder without my parents help?

So I'm 14 and a 1/2 - Can't drive and 'm not allow to on busses. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorderder - constant fear and muscle pains all the time - and I really need help, but my parents won't help me. They won't take me anywhere or buy me anything. So how can I get help?

Sweety, It is illegal to with hold medical attention from anyone, especially our children. Do you have access to a phone? Find the local crisis number and call it. Do you go to school? Talk to your teacher or counsellor there. I'm sure if you need medical attention, you will get it. How did you find out in the first place that you have an anxiety disorder? If through your doctor, then call her/him and explain your situation. Did the doctor not give you some form of a recovery plan or medication to work with at home? Take care, it will get better.

If you go to school, ask to see the school counsellor. If you can get yourself to a doctor ask for help.
See if you can get to a public library and ask the librarian for references so you can read up what is happening to you and how you can deal with the issues that face you each day.
Luckily Anxiety Disorders are quite treatable if you can get yourself to a psychologist. Good Luck.

school counselor, or walk to a psychologist or whatever. get a ride.

i can talk to you, too, if you want, my info is public. talking might help you, too.

good luck my friend!

getting more love should also help you too. Telling a close friend about it, and asking them to come over to hang out, having a girlfriend, maybe, but don't get attached, either, and be understanding if they or your friends don't act how you want or expect them to.

Just believe in yourself, have faith in yourself that you will make it through and never forget that.

Develop some worthy goals, if you don't have some already :p

Alright, man, good luck. Maybe be friends with Star, too. Sounds like you and that person could help each other.

ok honey...just hang in there..why wont your parents help you?? well like me too..i also told them that i have some serious mental illness but they refuse to believe.telling me that i only imagine it...so what i did was did a research....distract myself...of course your not allowed to drive yet coz ur only 14...or a minor...just talk to your guidance counselor...or any of your relatives to help you...if u want to talk more just mail me..shanna_carebears@yahoo.com

I have the exact same problems as you..
They do not want to let me see a doctor casue they think if i relax, I would be fine..
But i feel that I am getting worse each day...
And i feel so scared, depressed, negative...

Demand for them to help. Tell them u aren't going to take this crap and the need to buy u things

Limit "worrying time" to around 45 mns, daily, possibly when you get home, or after your evening meal, but not too close to bedtime) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to worry again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. You will have had your "worry time" for the day, and can just write down any more thoughts that come to mind, and say to yourself: "Well, I'll just have to worry about that tomorrow, won't I?". It's important to regularly monitor, and deal with a negative internal monologue (self talk), or mental process, such as disturbing thoughts, images, impulses, or emotions, by the process of (a): recognising it, and (b): challenging it immediately. Technique For Re-Programming Negative Thoughts: When you notice something negative, such as: "I can't do this/ am never going to get over this!" or: "Why am I always so pathetic/useless/such a loser?" or even an image, emotion, or a memory; recognise that it is being generated from the negative part of your mind. Having identified and labelled it, visualise a large, red, flashing, "STOP!" sign, and/or possibly a stern faced person wagging an index finger at you in a negative manner, then say to yourself as forcefully as you can, even aloud in a big voice, if alone: "I know this tactic: GO AWAY FOR A WHILE !!!" You may want to use either: "ruse", "ploy", "game", or "trick". In the case of an image, visualise a large "STOP" sign, or your preferred version.

Some people go so far as to keep a wide rubber band in their pocket, then put it around their wrist, when they catch themselves backsliding, stretch and release it, as a method of reprogramming their mind sooner, but I don't regard it as being strictly necessary. Remember to remove it, afterwards, if you use this method. Try replacing a negative thought with a positive affirmation of your choice, like: "I am a unique individual, with my own set of skills, and good points", or "I may not be perfect, but I'm doing the best I can, right now". Practice one of the relaxation methods in sections 11, 2, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Tai Chi, or yoga suits others better. Give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is a version for use in public places, (you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind). Section 53, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris refers: "Even though I sometimes suffer from anxiety, I deeply and completely accept myself." Or Google: "neurofeedback; therapists" Herbal remedies, such as chamomile, passionflower, or St. John's wort, are often effective, but the idea is (as with anxiolytic medication) to use them like water wings, or training wheels on a bicycle, providing initial support, and giving time for other treatments, such as therapy, and relaxation techniques, to take effect.
