Is there something comparable to Advair for asthma but not so expensive?

It is getting to be too much. On Albuterol already too.

I am assuming you do not have insurance or your insurance is not willing to pay. take a look at the online site I use for my maintenance meds at the link below, not sure if it is cheaper but it is an option to look at

You can get generic Advair. Ask your doctor to prescribe that for you.

Incidentally, it is curious that he has you on Albuterol as well as the Advair.

This report in the New England Journal of Medicine, A comparison of salmeterol with albuterol in the treatment of mild-to-moderate asthma states....

CONCLUSIONS. For the management of mild-to-moderate asthma, salmeterol given twice daily is superior to albuterol given either four times daily or as needed.

So, if he reckons you need Saluterol, why is he mucking about with the Albuterol? Hmm. Go figure. But I think I'd go see another doc for a second opinion.

well this isn't really the answer to your question, but i got rid of my asthma. I moved to pittsburgh for a few months and was really working out hard and running a lot but i had to take my inhaler about 3 times a day sometimes more. My asthma was getting uncontrollable. Then one day i quit my job, but already had 2000 saved up so for around a month and a half i'd go to the gym work out then get on the treadmill and run 1 mile at a fairly fast pace. I'd have an asthma attack somewhere in the middle of my run but i always finished the mile.. once i finished the run i wouldn't use my inhaler i'd just go home and sit on my couch and wait out the attack. After a month and a half of not taking my inhaler, my asthma subsided...I've been asthma free for 3 years

Ask you pharmacist if there is a generic for different doses of fluticasone propionate and salmeterol xinafoate.
