How are an aeroplane, a patient with asthma and a venturi mask related?

What binds them together, scientifically speaking?

They are all related to the Venturi effect which is a phenomenon which is described by Bernoulli's equation.

When air is flowing through a pipe, and is forced through a narrower section of pipe, or under the surface of a wing on an aeroplane, the pressure decreases while the velocity increases.

I didn't expect many people to know about the Bernoulli phenomena or otherwise known as the Venturi effect.
I got asked the exact same question in college.
